On October 16, a Korean inmate at Pampanga Provincial Jail named Park Wang-Yeol escaped right under the noses of five jail guards who were escorting him in Tarlac province.

Apparently, the Korean inmate together with the jail guards stopped by an eatery along the national road in Tarlac after getting back from his supposed arraignment for illegal possession of firearms at the Tarlac City RTC (Regional Trial Court).

The jail guards reportedly allowed Park to go to the bathroom without any escort. According to a statement, a few minutes after, the guards found out that the prisoner has escaped through a ventilation window in the restroom.

The subject of an Interpol red notice, Park is also considered a high-risk detainee due to his alleged involvement in murder and illegal possession of firearms cases in Pampanga back in 2016.This is something that could make the Korean community in the country hyper vigilant and worried about their own safety while Park is still at large.
